Jared Lazerson – Chairman
Mr. Lazerson has been involved in the technology and mineral exploration industries for 25 years. He is the Founder and Chairman of MGX Minerals and served as the Company’s CEO from 2014-2020. During his tenure as CEO of MGX, Mr. Lazerson was responsible for raising $50M and oversaw strategic investments and acquisitions in clean and renewable energy technologies. These included lithium ion batteries, zinc-air batteries, water purification, mineral extraction from fluids, and gasification as well as acquisitions and investments in industrial minerals and precious metals properties and projects including magnesium oxide, silicon, niobium, lithium, and gold. In 2018, Mr. Lazerson accepted the S&P Global Platts Metals Award for Leadership in Base and Specialty Metals on behalf of MGX. Mr. Lazerson holds a BA in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania.
Patrick Power / Director & CEO
Mr. Power has extensive venture capital, mining and technology experience. As Founder and VP of Finance of Western Potash Corp., Mr. Power was responsible for raising approximately $200 Million and arranging the sale of the company. In addition to experience in industrial minerals such as potash and lithium, Mr. Power has experience in solution mining and extraction of minerals from fluids. As well, Mr. Power has industry knowledge and experience in renewable energy storage, in particular vanadium redox flow batteries.
Andris Kikauka (P. Geo) / VP of Exploration and Director
Mr. Kikauka is a geologist with over 30 year of experience. From 1996 to 2012 he was Project Geologist overseeing exploration programs at Goldrea Resources. Mr. Kikauka is Project Geologist for Rio Minerals as well as a director of American Manganese Inc. (TSX.V: AMY), which is focused on mineral properties and commodities used in the steel industry. He holds a B.Sc. in Structural Geology, Mineralogy & Petrology from Brock University.
Lyndon Patrick (LLB) / Director
Mr. Patrick is a Vancouver-based, independently practicing lawyer. He has practiced in British Columbia since 2001 in the areas of litigation and real estate. He holds an LLB from the University of Alberta, and an MA and BA from the University of British Columbia. Mr. Patrick is an independent director of the Company.

The overall objective of the MGX/UBC two-year research program is to develop a low-cost and scalable method that will fabricate a silicon-based anode to improve the energy density of Li-ion batteries. Dr. Jian Liu, Assistant Professor in the School of Engineering at UBC Okanagan, is leading a research group focused on advanced materials for energy storage. Dr. Liu was previously the technical lead for development of surface coating materials by atomic and molecular layer deposition, and their applications in surface and interface engineering on the anode and cathode of Li-ion batteries and beyond, at Western University and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
Andris Kikauka (P. Geo), NI 43-101 Qualified Person
Mr. Andris Kikauka, as an executive of MGX Minerals, is a Professional Geologist with over 30 years experience in the minerals mining, consulting, exploration and research industries. Mr. Kikauka acts as the Company’s Qualified Person for technical disclosure per National Instrument 43-101. Mr. Kikauka has reviewed and approved the technical content of this website.
Mr. Kikauka is a graduate of Brock University, St. Catharines, Ont., with an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Geological Sciences, 1980. He is also a member of the Geological Association of Canada (F5717) and is registered in the Province of British Columbia as a Professional Geoscientist). He has practiced his profession for thirty years in precious and base metal exploration in the Cordilllera of Western Canada working for Anaconda Canada Exploration (1980-1984), Skyline Explorations, Inel Resources, Gulf International Minerals (1985-1989), in South America working for Carson Gold (1990), in Mexico and Guatemala working mineral exploration projects for Francisco Gold and Almaden Minerals (1996-2006) and for three years in uranium exploration in the Canadian Shield working for Rayrock Mines and Uran-Canada (1977-1979).
